Ever think of something you want to try out for your characters?

Something that would not make sense in the main RPG due to the character's species or the setting of the RP?

This page is devoted to such Alternate Universe events.

Please prompt every AU with a "What if..." question and separate the AU's with break lines.

What if Fern and Co. were on the side of the Government/in the Government?

"Well, that about covers my new Trainin' program. Betty approved it, so there shouldn't be any problem." Jace gave several of the people around the table a wary look.

"Hmm well as long as Betty approved it." Collins said uncertainly.

"Of course she did. We want to toughen the kids up, not kill them." Fern raised an eyebrow at Collins.

"Of course, but lets hear from one of his former students, Da- David please stop goofing off and tells what you think." Collins said an amused at David balancing a pencil on his nose.

"Huh? Oh yeah another training course would be awesome! ..err.. I mean another training course will prove very valuable to the trainees we've seen time & time again that Jace's training courses give very high results and produce much stronger soldiers." David stated as formal as he could.

"That pup's a human an' he can take down most any soldier we have--if he decides ta be serious 'bout it." Jace said solemnly. "All 'cause a the trainin' circle."

Collin nodded. "Alright. I'll approve it."

"As do I." Commander Dennis agreed, as other higher-ups started approving it.

"Thank you, sir." Jace and Fern said together.

Dennis nodded to them. "I believe this meeting is over."

Jace and Fern stood from the table along with the other soldiers present.

David stood up. "I think that went well."

"Better than I thought it would..." Jace muttered as everyone started to leave.

"Yeah especially with some of the higher ups that were here..." David whispered just loud enough for Jace's wolf ears to catch it.

Jace nodded as Fern went out the door ahead of them. "Snooping around, Debutante? You know, you could have just walked on in."

"Ana?" :D

Anabell snickered to Fern. "I wasn't snooping, I was just coming to see how things went." She then turned to Jace. "Soo~ how'd it go, Jace?"

"Great! We got full approval all the way 'round!" Jace grinned.

"That's great news!" Anabell agreed.

"Haniko stay with the group." Graham and Hana called as Yuki and Haniko came racing down the hall.

"Now, where are ya pups goin'?" Jace chuckled.

"We wanted to see how everything went~" Yuki & Haniko chimed.

"Full approval~" Fern chimed.

"That's great!" Yuki hummed.

"Yeah, looks like we don't have to beat anyone up~" Haniko agreed as Graham & Hana came over.

"Heh. Sorry." Jace apologized to the caregivers as he scratched the back of his head.

"They've been excited all day, nothing you could've done to stop them~" Graham replied.

"Yeah, but we probably hyped 'em up too much." Jace explained as he picked up Yuki.

Yuki happily clung to Jace. "We would've found out either way~"

"That's true we would've." Haniko agreed going over to Fern.

"You two should've respected Graham & Hana though." Anabell stated.

"You act like they set everyone into a panic, debutante. They just wanted to hear the big news~" Fern cooed mockingly.

"I just don't want them to get in the habit of ignoring their caretakers~" Anabell replied in a mocking sweet tone.

"They still listen to my big brother and I. Isn't that enough?" Fern raised an eyebrow.

Jace put down Yuki and addressed him and Haniko. "Ya two should probably get outta the line a fire..." >___>

"Ahaha well if they're going to be in the military they're have to learn to respect more then just two or three people~" Anabell replied.

"They always keep things verbal~" Haniko stated.

"Yes, but sometimes they use words ya two shouldn't know, yet." Jace explained as he gently shooed them towards Graham and Hana.

"Well, that's years away. For all we know, they might go off like that Liden kid or work in Weapons Development like me." Fern crossed her arms.

"One, Liden came back, two no matter what field they go into there are people to be respected. >:/" Anabell stated as Yuki and Haniko sighed and went with Graham and Hana.

"See you later Fern~" Graham hummed.

"Later, Kitty. One' Liden's still a bit of a wild card. And two; they know respect. They just know there's times that orders aren't to be followed blindly." Fern said the last point with a slight accusatory tone.

"I understand that, but Graham & Hana where trying to take them to lunch. That isn't something to be weary of."

"And food just vanishes into thin air if you spare a few moments to hear about whatever news is going on! Now I understand!" Fern mocked.

"We told them that we'd met them after the meeting to tell them how it went!" Anabell stated annoyed.

Mark peeked around the corner and grabbed Jace. "Come on.....we should leave them to ...uhh..sort things out."

"Okay..." Jace answered, sounding a little unsure before he followed Mark.

"They're kids! They got excited! And they have years ahead of them to learn not to. Why can't you just let them enjoy childhood while they have it, huh?"

"I-I can let them have fun!!" Anabell declared.

Mark stopped. "Okay..maybe you should grab Anna and I'll grab Fern."

"Yeah." Jace agreed before walking up to Anabell and grabbing her elbow. "Yo, Ana! Wanna go check up on the new trainees? They're supposed ta get assigned to their trainers, today."

"Oh. Right." Anabell turned back towards him and smoothing out her uniform as she followed him.

"Come on Sis, We're supposed to be getting some blood samples from Yue."

"Oh, yeah! The acid ice project~ >:)"

"Yup~ >:D"

"Well, what are we waiting for, little brother~? We need that blood for my new designs!" Fern said.

"Of course!" Mark cheered leading the way.

"Hm~" Fern hummed happily as she followed Mark. "It feels...peaceful here. Do you know what I mean, Mark?"

"Y-Yeah...It freaked me out at first...but now..it is, kind of..nice." Mark stated.

"It took some getting used to, I'll admit." Fern chuckled. "More for us and Vic than anyone. Drake and Graham just went with it and the Grecos seem quite adaptable."

"Yeah~ Vic and I patrolled the place a lot." Mark added.

"And I was rather jumpy, too..." Fern confessed. "And while Drake seemed to enjoy having so many patients, I think people are still getting used to him. XD"

"I know!! XD Heck people are still getting used to all of us~" Mark laughed.

"I suppose we developed a unique group over the years..." Fern smiled.

"I-It's our group though~ ^-^" Mark chuckled.

"It is. And I'm glad we're all together~"

"I am too." Mark agreed as they reached the lab.

Yue's music was blasting from the lab.

Mark pushed the doors open. "YUE TURN DOWN THE MUSIC SO WE CAN TALK!!"

Yue jumped in surprise and quickly turned down the radio. "Sorry! I just love that song~"

"We guessed." Fern replied.

"Yeah~ e__e" Mark eyed the room.

"It is a good song~" Soron nodded in agreement not taking his eyes of the machine he was fixing.

"You two here for the blood samples?" Yue chirped.

"Yup!" Mark replied with a slight grin.

"Great~" Yue fetched the tray of samples. "I hope this will be enough..." She handed the tray to Mark.

"They should be enough." Fern nodded.

"Thank you~" Mark replied taking the samples.

"We'll be back next month." Fern said as she started to leave.

"Of course. Good luck~" Yue waved.

Mark nodded as he turned to leave.

"Let's go drop these off, little brother. Then we can go check in with the Grecos and head to lunch, ok?"

"Kay~....They've been pretty busy it'll be nice to eat with them again." Mark replied.

"It will~" Fern agreed with a soft smile.

"Blaine, & Darryl have enjoyed helping make the training grounds."

"Well, those two know how to make fun of any kind of work." Fern chuckled.

"True....*sigh* that kitty is getting to me...I feel all weird and sentimental. >XP" Mark stated.

"I know what you mean~" Fern sighed. "We don't all see each other as much as we used to, huh?"

"No...but we do get to eat together sometimes and the Grecos' rooms aren't too far from mine." Mark stated as the reached Fern's recently given office.

"Really? I'll have to start visiting them every once in a while..."

Mark blinked a bit before slapping his forehead with one hand. "I forgot to mention my room got moved yesterday."

"Well, that explains it." Fern chuckled as she unlocked the blood fridge.

"Ya know...I think every vampire should have one of these!" Mark mused as he put the blood away.

"Preferably not filled with this kind of blood~" Fern chuckled.

"Hey maybe they like spicy mouth melting blood~"

"They'd lose their taste buds trying. XD"

"Probably~" Mark agreed shutting the fridge.

"Ready for lunch?"

"You bet." Mark replied as his stomach let out a groan of agreement.

Fern chuckled. "Lets go find the Grecos and head to the kitchen, little brother~"

Mark nodded as she followed.

"Now, where are they..." Fern sniffed the air for their scent.

Just as she sniffed Darryl's voice broke the air. "Miss Fern! Long time no see! ;D" It called coming down the hall with Blaine in toe.

"I was just about to hunt down you and your brothers." Fern chuckled. "You two hungry?"

"Oh yeah, we forgot to get breakfast this morning." Blaine chuckled as he walked up beside Fern.

"Yeah~ We got a bit too excited about finishing one of the courses~ ^-^'" Darryl agreed embarrassed.

Fern snickered. "Think we can track down your brothers on the way to the kitchen?"

"Probably...except Desmond.. he's on a date." Blaine replied.

"Naturally." Fern rolled her eyes with a smile.

"You two are enjoying yourselves aren't you?" Blaine asked.

"I'm enjoying not having to hide or fight every five minutes just to keep us all together." Fern admitted.

Blaine sighed as he relaxed. "I'm glad...it is nice."

"And there's a lot of sweets here and people!!" Darryl hummed.

"And Family?" Mark muttered.

Fern stiffened for a moment before forcing herself to relax. "Mark, we are a......that word."

"Yeah....b-but Jace, Alex &..umm Jack..are err..okay." Mark said before getting a weird look on his face.

"What's that look about?" Blaine asked slightly uneasy.

"Oh-oh nothing..it was stupid." Mark replied.

"In the blood sense, they're our brothers. In the other sense, they've given us no reason to distrust them thus far."

"Hey..Fern...Graham talks about families and hug and stuff.....when was the last time you had a hug?" Mark asked.

"O.O wow...didn't expect that." Blaine said in dismay.

"Do you want one?! =D" Darryl chimed.

"Is something wrong, Mark?"

"N-No....I..just don't...remember what a hug's like..." Mark said rubbing his arm.

Fern turned and embraced Mark. "Maybe if you'd ask, Graham would drop by every once in a while like he does for me."

Mark blinked as he hugged back. "Kitty does drop by...."

"I want a hug too~!" Darry sang quickly jumping and hugging Blaine who just stood there as Darryl swung around him.

"And he doesn't hug you hello? That's odd..."

"No...but that probably because I uppercut him the first time...I..was jumpy." Mark replied.

"Kitty's forgiving~ Just tell him." Fern released the embrace.

"Okay..." Mark replied letting go and clearing his throat as he turned to the two Grecos. "You two didn't see that did you?"

"Nope~ We were watching Blaze try to catch a butterfly~ It's funny." Darryl hummed looking through a window.

"Why is he chasing a butterfly?" Fern looked confused.

"He likes butterflies....I think he collects them...I don't really know." Blaine sighed shaking his head.

"He acts really funny when he sees them! One time he nearly killed this guy cause the guy tried to step on a butterfly~" Darryl giggled.

"...I almost want to think it's a wind thing because they're flying creatures, but I haven't seen you get defensive over a fish before..." Fern said to Darryl, seeming a little bewildered and amused.

"N-no....Blaze is just a weirdo..." Darryl snickered.

"To each their own~" Fern giggled.

"Sh-should we call to him?" Mark asked.

"...Nah. The kitchen doesn't close, and he'll probably get p*ssed if we distract him." e___e

"True...let's go." Blaine and Mark replied.

"Which kitchen do you feel like, today?"

"Hmmm....Grill." Mark & Blaine nodded in agreement with each other.

"Awwww...I like Edda's..." Darryl sighed.

"Maybe next time." Fern told Darryl.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I'm sorry ya an' my sister don' get along so well..." Jace murmured softly, half-hoping Anabell could not hear.
"*sigh* Not your fault~ She's just...*sigh*...infuriating." Anabell sighed.
"Sorry..." Jace said again.
"Hehaha...Jace..why do you always apologize? There's nothing you can do to change how Fern and I interact...so, don't apologize." Anabell snickered as she patted his shoulder.
"But she's my lil' sister an' you're.... >//////> I'd just like ya two ta get along better..."
Anabell raised her eyebrow at Jace avoiding giving her a classification. "*sigh*....I'll try a little harder~ but no promises."
Jace gave Anabell a wolfish grin in relief.
"I'm glad you guys get along so well though! XD" Anabell laughed.
"I am too! :D At first she treated me like I was 'bout ta attack her once she had her back turned, or somethin'..."
"Oh she treated everyone like that, didn't she~" Anabell asked with a slight chuckle.
"Yeah. I think she's toned down a lot, since." Jace's grin widened.
"Yeah but she's still a pain sometimes, hehehaha." Anabell laughed
"I...guess..." Jace scratched the back of her head, nervously.
"OOoh~ I hear boots thumping nervously on tile floors...hehehe looks like we're close to the trainees~"
Jace's grin went from nervous to sadistic. "I love this part~"
"Oooh~ Let's wait a bit longer~ I came almost hear their hearts beating!" Anabell hummed sadistically as her feet strummed the floor.
"Nah~ If they're gonna get heart attacks, we better be there ta see it. XD"
"True~" Anabell chuckled as she reached for one of the door handles and smiled.
Jace reached for the other door handle and shot Anabell another grin before slamming the door open: "Up and at 'em, pups! Today's the start of a looooong road for ya!"
"Long and hard~ So I hope you are excited~" Anabell smiled devilishly from beside Jace as the trainees all looked on with awe.
"If not, then tough luck."
"You-You're our trainers?" A young girl asked nervously.
"Nope we broke in to facility and are going to take you all hostage~" Debbie chimed as she came in. The trainees immediately started looking freaked. "Wow good job~ You guys are really trusting, but no, we are seriously trainers."
"Today's a big day for all of ya. Today we decide who trains who. This is important because we all use different styles an' techniques, so your fightin' style will depend on who decides ta take ya."
"So choose carefully, and try to remember what skills you already have." Anabell reminded as the trainees shot up from their seats and where instantly around them.
Jace chuckled. "This part always makes me feel like I'm in a fish bowl, or somethin'..."
"hehaha yeah it definitely sends them into a frenzy." Anabell chuckled back as the trainees started making lines infront of the an asking questions.
"Hold on, one at a time please." Debbie stated.
"Line up an' be respectful, pups!"
The trainees where trying to make lines while tripping over their legs and accidently bumping into each other.
"Oi! How 'bout organizin' yourself by who ya most want ta train ya, huh? None a this trippin' around!"
The trainees nervously formed lines.
"Good will give you some more time to make sure you're in the line you wantta be in." Anabell stated looking over the line infront of her.
"I don't know about you two~ But my team looks pretty bad A." Debbie hummed approvingly.
"Muscles only mean somethin' if they know how ta use 'em." Jace reminded.
A few of the trainees seemed unsure now as the looked between the lines.
"But we are here to help ya learn how to use them~" Anabell added seeming to relaxes some of them.
"Everybody where they wanna be?"
The trainees all nodded some more certain then others.
"Then lets see what ya can do." Jace grinned.
"Ready to go to the training grounds?" Debbie hummed as she started leading her group.
"My group can start by knockin' down dummies. I wanna see how ya approach a target."
"I'll test my groups range at the sniper range~" Debbie stated.
"Alright. I'm going to test mine with the new moving target range~"
"Right. This way, pups." Jace started leading his group.
"Umm s-sir. Why do you call us pups?" One boy barely old enough to go to the training grounds asked.
"'Cause until ya prove yourselves strong enough ta protect this place an' graduate, that's exactly what ya are. Any other questions?"
"Umm......H-How...How many...people are you not able to...save?" The girl from earlier asked.
"As little as possible. We do what we can, but sometimes things happen that we can't prevent."
"Wh-what are the odds of us actually being able to help?" The girl asked which made other trainees start getting antsy.
"Well, that depends on your own skill. The sooner we get started, the better those odds start lookin'."
The girl made a determined nod as one of the boys started snickering.
"Mind explainin' what's funny?" Jace asked the boy.
"Oh...Umm it's just she skin and bones, and she expects to be able save a bunch of people...I think she shoulda joined the sniper group." The boy snickered.
"So? She could end up bein' rather quick or flexible. Some people are built ta take a hit. Others are built ta avoid gettin' hit at all."
"Yeah...but I don't she can pack a punch." The boy replied.
"Wantta test that theory?" The girl retorted.
"Well, that's what the dummies are for~ Findin' out! >:D"
"I-Is that da trainin ground?" A boy asked looking through one of the windows.
"Part of it~" Jace answered.
"Just part?!" Several trainees echoed.
"Not even a quarter." Jace grinned wolfishly. "Wanna see~?"
"Umm ok-okay." Trainees echoed.
"Then let's go~" Jace led them out to the training grounds.
The trainees ow and awed the training grounds looking wide eyed at everything.
"Glad ta see you're impressed~ This is a sight you're gonna get used ta, though."
"So where do you want us positioned?" The girl from earlier asked.
"Like I said. Start with the dummies." Jace motioned towards the wooden dummies.
The trainees made lines in front of the different dummies.
"Aaaaaand...Begin!"
The trainees were fairly good at keeping a stance but quite a few of them left themselves open...
Jace made a mental note to address that after the demonstration...
